Workshops and classes at Impact Studio 931

Photography workshops in Clarksville, taught by working photographers

Hands-on sessions in a real studio: lighting on the cyc, the brick, and the wood wall; headshots that sell; posing and directing real people; and the business of photography, including how to run it with AI. Small groups, live models, your own camera.

What we teach

The first season is being scheduled now. Dates and prices are announced to the list first.

Studio Lighting Fundamentals

One-, two-, and three-light setups on the cyc, brick, and wood walls, hands-on with live models. A full Saturday.

Headshots That Sell

Corporate and personal-brand headshot lighting, posing, and direction, with live shoot-throughs. Small group.

Posing and Directing Real People

For photographers who freeze up directing non-models: families, seniors, professionals. A half day.

The Business of Photography with AI

Pricing, packaging, marketing, client flow, and a hands-on block on the AI tools that save a small studio hours a week.

Studio Craft for Working Pros

Modifiers, gels, and commercial product setups for photographers already booking clients. Advanced half day.

Ask the Pros

An evening panel with Jayson Rivas and guest photographers on pricing, marketing, and tools. Informal, low cost, bring questions.

Why here

Impact Studio 931 is a working studio, not a classroom. You learn on the same cyc wall, brick wall, and lighting that photographers rent every week, in groups small enough that you actually shoot. Jayson Rivas, the owner, is a working commercial photographer and a former Green Beret who builds the systems his own businesses run on; guest instructors bring their own niches.

Every workshop includes the room, the light, and the models. Bring your camera and a card.

Workshop questions

When is the first workshop?
The first season is being scheduled now. Join the list and you will get dates and prices before they are announced publicly.
How many people are in a session?
Hands-on sessions are capped at eight to twelve so everyone shoots. The evening panel seats up to twenty-five.
Do I need my own camera?
Yes, bring your camera, lenses, and a memory card. Lighting and modifiers are provided.
Who are the workshops for?
Serious hobbyists going pro, first-year professionals, and working photographers who want studio and business skills. Each listing says who it fits.
Can I book the studio to practice after a workshop?
Yes. Studio time is $75 an hour with a two-hour minimum, and workshop attendees are the renters we most want to see back.
Do you teach classes for military spouses or people starting a business?
The business-of-photography sessions are built for exactly that. Fort Campbell families and transitioning service members are a big part of the Clarksville photography community, and we welcome them.
